I have used Affresh in my front loading Whirlpool washer from the very beginning. I make sure to run a clean washer cycle with Affresh as soon as the indicator light tells me it's time. I have never noticed a musty smell in my machine or on my clothes. My suggestion would be to use it regularly and BEFORE you have an odor problem.

The washer and dryer repair recommended this. I always felt like the washer had a mildew smell. I used the whole package the first time and it is refreshing and I do not smell anything now. I plan on using it once a month.

We use this every month or so in our HE top loader. As long as we're certain to only use HE detergent, never use fabric softener, and always leave the top of the washing machine open between uses, these tablets are all we need. We do use all three tablets at once. br /If we don't use affresh, our clothes start smelling, no matter how much bleach or hot water we use. Haven't tried "smelly washer".

My Bosch Washer and Dryer (HE) have been the best investment by far, but one mishap of leaving a wet load inside the washer prior to a week vacation, left a strong odor that would not go away. I was prepared to use all three tablets of the Affresh, but it only required one. The odor is completely gone and I am VERY happy with this product. br /It did go against my thrifty nature to run an empty hot-water load, but that is what the directions read and it is a key component to successfully getting rid of the odor.

Since we bought our HE Whirlpool washer/dryer set we couldn't be happier. Once every couple of months we drop one of these into the washer and the clothes come out smelling great.
