Product Description TOPICAINE 5 is a translucent, non-oily clear gel that contains 5% Lidocaine with soothing agents, such as glycerin, jojoba oil and aloe vera oil. The gel has a calming, cooling effect on the skin by the actions of Shea butter, aloe, jojoba oil and alpha-bisabolol (the anti-inflammatory active ingredient of chamomile). It is petrolatum free. The topical anesthetic is for use on normal intact skin for local analgesia. Adequate dermal analgesia is achieved after 1 hour of application, and the effect continues for approximately 1 hour after removal. Areas such as the upper lip may be numb for up to 30 minutes after application. It can be used for the relief of pain and itching caused by: minor skin irritations, minor burns, minor cuts and insect bites. TOPICAINE 5 also has a label indication for use on anorectal pain such as that caused by hemorrhoids.

| Customer Reviews:
Pain Relief September 14, 2008 I bought this to help me stand the pain from PHN, the after effects of "shingles." I had a bad case of it and continued to bother me after it was treated by the doctor. The nerves were damaged so it continued to hurt even after the germs were gone. The ointment contains an ingrediant that I read about for the treatment of PHN. This ingrediant is supposed to help lessen the pain. Well, it does seem to work so that I am not constantly bothered by the pain.
